This is my favourite NU team I have built in a long time. It got me 3 wins in the POCL (then tier changes caused it to suck for a bit) and is really fun to use. I never really laddered with it much, but its not really built for the ladder. It looks like shit, but it works somehow. Oh, and my EV's are shit, I am aware of this. I do them at random to make it look like I know what I'm doing. Oh, and credit to CBB for coming up with Sweepjask and making me build this.
Torkoal (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: White Smoke
EVs: 144 HP / 112 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Shell Smash
- Fire Blast
- Rapid Spin
- Hidden Power [Grass]
Shell Smash Torkoal is a bro, don't hate. This team is 100% focused on Ninjask, and Torkoal is a great partner for it. The obvious first thing Ninjask needs is Rapid Spin support, and along With Shell Smash Torkoal can almost guarantee a spin. After Shell Smash, Frillish Misdreavus and Golurk are all going to get broasted by Fire Blast or HP Grass, and then Torkoal can freely spin. EV's are...random. Torkoal hits 304 Speed after Shell Smash, like a boss. The best thing about this is no one expects it, and throws so many people off. It also lures Golem and Rhydon, which is huge for Ninjask.
Torterra fixes the massive Rock weak I had just built up. It is also a boss. Beats Klinklang 1 on 1 which is cool, as that is another bish who thinks they can stop Sweepjask. Moveset is pretty self explanatory, Double STAB, Recovery and filler, its a simple mon really. Taking on Eelektross is pretty useful as well, since that has a decent chance at beating Sweepjask. All it normally does is soften up Steel types for Ninjask to sweep later.
Sawk (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Close Combat
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Toxic
Sawk is here purely because its a gangster. This thing hits really hard (unless your Musharna) even with a Scarf. A great catch all revenge killer, I mainly used this to beat Jynx when it was around (revenge kill). It also helps to stop Steel types hatin' on Sweepjask. Close Combat is obvious STAB, Stone Edge gets good coverage with CLose Combat, and Earthquake can hit Golurk. Toxic can be used to wear down things like Alomomomomomomomomomomomomloma, another bish. Jolly nature to speed tie with other Sawks.
Golem (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Rock Blast
- Sucker Punch
Brolem. Is. A. Bro. Seriously, this thing gets Rocks up pretty much every match, then breaks faces. Stealth Rock is the point of the set, Earthquake is reliable STAB. Rock Blast is used to beat Sub Baton Pass Ninjask, since I have no Phazer. Sucker Punch is awesome on such a powerful slow Pokemon, and lets me finish off loads of sweepers. Golem lures Fighting and Ground attacks, which if coming from choiced mons will lead to Sweepjask being a top.
When I built this team Sawk was EVERYWHERE. Musharna hard counters it, as well as pretty much any other physical attacker. It also spreads para and can even sweep once Dark types are removed. This really is the bog standard Musharna, it just doesn't die. Its a great fallback for all the random stuff you run into in NU (Tropius????), and can lure bug type attacks for Ninjask to set up on.
So here it is, the star of the show, SWEEPJASK. Seriously, this thing causes gg's all over the place. Stop using the SubSD Baton Pass shit, it sucks. Swords Dance Sweepjask is where the money is. Once Steel types have been removed and priority moves have been scouted, this thing can go to town. Swords Dance is the point of the set. X-Scissor and Aerial Ace are stab moves, not the best but its all Sweepjask needs, its that awesome. Night Slash hits Ghosts and annoying stuff like Rotom-S. It doesn't need any speed because it already outspeeds everything, even without a boost. Sweepjask is Strong, try it, you won't be dissapoint.
I used it myself, and it's awesome. Only thing I would change is maybe Dig over Aerial Ace? Fighting types are already getting softened up by Musharna, as well as Flying types (mostly Altaria, which Ninjask can't touch anyways without a huge amount of boosts)
