==General== *High attacking stat. *Strong priority. *Access to one of the best moves in 1v1 Metal Burst. *Useful ability. *Low Speed. *Unfortunate 4X weakness to Fighting. ==Metal Burst== Bisharp (F) @ Focus Sash Trait: Inner Focus EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef Brave Nature (+Atk, -Spd) - Metal Burst - Sucker Punch - Iron Head - Brick Break *Metal Burst + Focus Sash puts many Pokemon in a checkmate position. *Sucker Punch is strong STAB priority. *Iron Head provides reliable STAB damage that works even when not attacked in return. *Brick Break provides reliable damage against Steel Types. *Inner Focus is a very useful ability that allows you to attack as you take a resisted Fake Out. *Speed negative nature gives you a greater chance to go second and hit with Metal Burst make sure how to give it 0 Speed IV's as well. ==Other Options== -Low Kick hits heavier targets harder then Brick Break. -Night Slash is STAB that doesn't require you be attacked. -Dual Chop hits twice allowing you to hit through sashes unfortunately it has poor coverage and lacks STAB. -Psycho Cut hits Fighting Types. -Swords Dance can be used on a predicted Protect or when you think the opponent won't attack you fearing Sucker Punch/Metal Burst. -Taunt can be a useful move when dealing with stallers and can force Pokemon to attack you allowing you to Sucker Punch/Metal Burst freely. ==Checks & Counters== -Leech Seed stallers. -Will-o-Wisp users. -Pokemon wielding sashes + faster priority. -Breloom.
Good overall review. Can't think of anything helpful except C&C Lucario breloom and mamoswine and aggron even.
I think you've covered just about everything I can think of. Nice analysis. I do think that Swords Dance deserves some mention in OO, even if it is a somewhat sub-par option
Thanks, Swords Dance does have a small niche for Pokemon that would be using Protect and many things are afraid to attack Bisharp in fear of Metal Burst/Sucker Punch so I can see it being marginally useful will add. Breloom I will add along with faster priority + sash.
Another set that I've seen someone use, though I don't know what the full set is, comprises of Taunt + Sucker Punch. I imagine probably max. attack EV's, but I don't know what else it would have in terms of EV's/item/moves. It might be another effective strategy worth noting, maybe as having taunt as an alternative to one of the moves of the aforementioned set.
I gave it an OO mention the only reason I don't have it on the main set is because of how slow Bisharp is meaning it will usually be hit by status or whatever non attacking move before it has a chance to use Taunt thanks for the comment.
