*Amazing 660 BST *Mediocre speed *125/90/90 defenses *130/130 *Terrible typing *One of the best Hail abusers *Weak to common priority *Hates Hazards ==SubRoost== Kyurem @ Leftovers Trait: Pressure EVs: 52 HP / 220 SAtk / 236 Spd Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk) - Substitute - Roost - Ice Beam / Dragon Pulse - Earth Power / Focus Blast Set Comments *Arguably Kyurem’s best set *Makes use of Kyurem’s natural bulk, great Special Attack and Pressure. *Brilliant Ice/Ground coverage which is only resisted by a few pokemon. Dragon Pulse is there if you want to use Kyurem's Dragon STAB, but Dragon Pulse + Earth Power gives poor coverage. If you use Dragon Pulse it's generally better to use it with Focus Blast, but Focus Blast's poor PP and accuracy makes this the inferior choice. *Pokemon who resist Ice/Ground coverage can be outstalled by the combination of Pressure and SubRoost, for example, Bronzong. *52HP EVs for 101HP Substitutes, 236 Spd to outspeed Positive Nature 80s, most notably Mamoswine. == Choiced == Kyurem @ Choice Scarf / Choice Specs Trait: Pressure EVs: 252 SAtk / 4SpD / 252 Spd Modest Nature (+SpA, -Atk) - Ice Beam / Blizzard - Draco Meteor - Earth Power - Focus Blast / Dragon Pulse / Hidden Power Fire Set Comments: *A Choice set is a very good choice seeing Kyurem’s monstrous Special Attack and a great offensive typing to fire off strong, unresisted STAB attacks. *Focus Blast hits Steel and Ice types respectively, who both resist the STAB attacks from Kyurem *Earth Power is a handy move against Jirachi and Heatran who both commonly switch in. *Dragon Pulse is there for when you don’t want to lock yourself in Draco Meteor. It’s also great late game. *Hidden Power Fire hits Scizor and Forretress hard, who think they have nothing to fear. *This set really needs Rapid Spin support otherwise it won’t last very long. *Hail support is appreciated since Blizzard gets viable then. The more power the better. *A Modest nature is preferred since Timid doesn't hit a good speed tier. == Life Orb == Kyurem @ Life Orb Trait: Pressure EVs: 32 HP / 252 SAtk / 224 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) / Modest Nature (+SpA, -Atk) - Ice Beam / Blizzard - Draco Meteor - Earth Power / Focus Blast - Roost Set comments: *The Kyurem-W in OU *Life Orb Kyurem is the best way to abuse Kyurem’s excellent Special Attack. *Ice Beam/Blizzard + Draco Meteor make for a powerful STAB combination only resists like to switch in to *Focus Blast is a nifty way to dispose yourself of Tyranitar, Ferrothorn and Heatran, but Earth Power gets a harder hit on Jirachi and is more reliable. *Roost gives hardly needed long-livety but can always be switched out for total offensive presence. *Speed EVs outspeed positive Landorus-T, but Modest can be used for more power to outspeed positive 80s, but Kyurem can now be revenged by Landorus-T and Hydreigon. *Magnezone makes for a good partner since Jirachi and Scizor have no problem taking on this set. *You can use Hidden Power Fire to hit Scizor, Forretress and Ferrothorn very hard. Other Options: Kyurem has an excellent Attack stat but just not the moves to use it. The best it can do is a SubShuffler set with Roost/Substitute/Dragon Tail/Hone Claws, but this is completely outclassed by Kyurem-B. Kyurem has its own special move, Glaciate. Glaciate on the Choice Specs set could work, since the speed drop is very handy but Steel types are the number one switch in and the low base power are the reason this isnt very viable. Checks&Counters Like already mentioned earlier, Jirachi is the best counter. The Specially Defensive set is only 3HKO’d by the SubRoost set while retaining it’s own recovery. Jolly Choice Scarf Jirachi outspeed all Kyurem sets and does heavy damage while having a chance to flinch it. Choice Scarf Jirachi also can take one Earth Power. JIrachi got somewhat demoted as a great counter after the addition of Earth Power to Kyurem’s movepool. Blissey and Bronzong easily take everything Kyurem throws at them but sadly they are outstalled by the SubRoost set. Choice Band Scizor easily takes an attack and revenges with a Bullet Punch, while Bulky Swords Dance Scizor uses Kyurem as set up fodder. Techniloom revenges Kyurem with Mach Punch which OHKO's if he’s not after a Substitute. Steel types in general are a good answer to Kyurem. Tyranitar is a great answer to Kyurem but fears Focus Blast. He can also change the weather which Kyurem is reliant on if using Blizzard. Latios, Latias, and Keldeo all outspeed and KO Kyurem, but they have to make sure Kyurem isn't after a Substitute. Revenging Kyurem isn't really hard but the hard part is it will be using Substitute a lot. You must also be wary of the Choice Scarf set when revenging Kyurem, so it isn't as easy as it looks like.
