    hmmm my preference for listening to music has shifted from individual songs to full albums. I've also started listening to heavier stuff, I used to prefer bands that were borderline between rock and metal. I still love that space, but ever since I started listening to Gojira I've found myself tending more towards heavy metal. So I might as well post some songs that have stood out from the albums I've been listening to.


    Opeth- Grand Conjuration
    This song got me into Opeth. So far they've actually underwhelmed, to me they're just boring a lot of the time- good music with like no passion behind it, at least that's what they sound like to me a lot of the time. Grand Conjuration is an exception- the quiet parts are appropriately creepy, and when the song gets heavy, it sounds angry. Fantastic track.


    In Vain- Floating on the Murmuring Tides
    Holy fuck I love this song. That dash of sax or w/e that's been thrown in there is just such a nice touch.


    Gojira- Clone
    Could've gone with Love here as well. I recently downloaded Gojira's debut album Terra Incognita (nigh on impossible to obtain legally). The album's without a doubt inferior to their later work, and isn't as interesting, but I find myself getting into the groove of it anyway and it's overall still pretty good imo. And like almost all Gojira, it's heavy as fuck.


    Tesseract- Nascent
    I love Tesseract, I think they're fantastic. They also have a habit of picking vocalists I really like. Idk, I've loved both One and Altered State, they're a great band.

    Edit: I've also really been digging Mastodon lately, I just didn't post them because there's no one track that stands out imo


    I really felt like this thread needed a good dose of metal
