    Rotom-W

Rotom-W is unchanged from the new Generation, but the metagame around it is vastly different. Boasting an amazing typing which allows it to take and give attacks well. Levitate is a great ability for Rotom-W, leaving it weak only to Grass type attacks. Defensive base stats of 50/107/107 may not look impressive, but Rotom-W's useful resistances helps to offset that. Volt Switch is a great move for Rotom-W to have and it can be used to grab momentum when it has been lost. Rotom-W has good support options to cripple the opponent's Pokemon. Rotom-W will surely remain to be an important threat in the XY OU metagame.

    Bulky Pivot

    Rotom-W @ Leftovers / Chesto Berry
    Trait: Levitate
    EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spd
    Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
    - Hydro Pump
    - Volt Switch
    - Pain Split / Rest
    - Will-O-Wisp

This set is the standard for Rotom-W and takes full advantage of Rotom-W's Defensive typing. The investment in Defense allows Rotom-W to defeat threats such as Talonflame and Mega Pinsir. Hydro Pump hits fairly hard and can hit Ground types that are immune to Volt Switch. Volt Switch hits Flying types from whom Rotom-W can normally handle well while gaining momentum by allowing you to switch Rotom-W out after using the attack. Will-O-Wisp is useful for crippling Physical Attackers and can help wear down walls that would otherwise hinder your team. Rest, if Chesto Berry is your item, will heal Rotom-W to full health at the cost of your Chesto Berry. Pain Split is situational, but can restore Rotom-W's health back when used on an opposing Pokemon with high health. 44 Speed can outspeed Jolly Belly Drum Azumarill and Jolly Mawile, but they are rare enough to overlook that fact.
    Choice

    Rotom-W @ Choice Scarf / Choice Specs
    Trait: Levitate
    EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
    Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
    - Hydro Pump
    - Volt Switch
    - Trick
    - Thunderbolt / Will-O-Wisp

Rotom-W lacks great Speed or great Special Attack, and a Choice item can remedy this. Choice Scarf augments Rotom-W's poor speed and Choice Specs augments Rotom-W's average Special Attack. Hydro Pump hits very hard, even without Choice Specs. Volt Switch can be used to gain momentum and hit hard or fast depending on item. Trick can cripple walls such as Chansey. Thunderbolt is useful to have since Volt Switch hits pretty weakly. Will-O-Wisp is used after the Choice is tricked away, or in a pinch to cripple something that needs to be crippled immediately. Modest is an option to use instead of Timid, but the Speed is generally more appreciated.

    Other Options
Thunder Wave can be used instead of Will-O-Wisp on the Bulky Pivot Set. Hidden Power [Fire] can be used on the fourth slot of the Choice Set in order to defeat Ferrothorn. Specially Defensive Rotom-W is still usable, but does not take full advantage of Rotom-W's typing like a Physically Defensive set can. Hidden Power [Grass] is an option on the Choice set to hit Gastrodon. Hidden Power [Ice] can be used, but even when it hits super effectively, it's laughably weak.

    Checks and Counters
Mega-Venusaur can take anything Rotom-W can do easily and 2HKO with Giga Drain. Chansey and Blissey don't care much about status and can wear Rotom-W down with Toxic stall, but they don't want to be Tricked by a Choice set. Bulky Grass types in general are a really good way to defeat Rotom-W. Assault Vest Conkeldurr can take two of any attack from Rotom-W, except a Choice Specs Hydro Pump, can use Drain Punch to hurt Rotom-W and heal back at once, and if Rotom-W tries to burn Conkeldurr, it will just make Conkeldurr hit harder. Gastrodon can take anything from Rotom-W barring a Hidden Power [Grass] and Toxic Rotom-W back. Goodra, Latios, and Latias don't mind anything from Rotom-W except a Thunder Wave which cripples Latios and Latias, all three can do massive damage to Rotom-W with Draco Meteor.

I think 44 Speed is a must on defensive sets. Azumarill at max speed hits 218 and Rotom doesn't really appreciate taking a Play Rough from any variant of Azumarill.
    252 Atk Choice Band Huge Power Azumarill Play Rough vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Rotom-W: 169-199 (55.5 - 65.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
    252 Atk Life Orb Huge Power Azumarill Play Rough vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Rotom-W: 146-173 (48 - 56.9%) -- 35.9% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
    252 Atk Huge Power Azumarill Play Rough vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Rotom-W: 112-133 (36.8 - 43.7%) -- 99.5% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
    252 Atk Pixie Plate Huge Power Azumarill Play Rough vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Rotom-W: 135-159 (44.4 - 52.3%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers
    [/HIDE]
With Rotom being so great defensively, chances are you aren't going to be at max when you get hit.

Gastrodon, Seismitoad, and Clefable should be added to the Checks & Counters section.
Some wording things here and there but I won't mention then now because it might just be personal preference.

Main set could have slash with Chesto Berry and Rest, replacing Leftovers and Pain Split respectively.

Checks and counters should include specially based dragon types such as Goodra and Latios.

Alright, I way concerned that some people might not read the set comments and use Chesto Berry with Pain Split, or Rest with Leftovers.

Added Goodra, Gastrodon, Latios and Latias in C&C

First thing's first, going to have to disagree with user Celebi and their advising the usage of 44 speed EVs for Azumarill. Jolly is used on under 15% of Belly Drum Azumarill and under 2% of Choice Banded Azumarill. In addition, outpacing Landorus-T isn't always a given as many are running enough to outpace DD Mega-Tar, Dragonite, and other pokemon, so it'll just be a waste when you can still be slower and get the volt switch in after they u-turn w/ more bulk in most situations. Oh and Jolly Mawile is literally never used, Adamant with bulk is 100% better, so that's not a valid point either. Overall, a 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef or a 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef spread are the best for Bulky Rotom-W.

Mention HP Ice in the OO.

Looks pretty good, to be honest, well done!

I disagree with this section in the Bulky Pivot set; those sets are run literally just to demolish a bulky Rotom-W with a spread like the one in your analysis with Play Rough, so it is by no means bad.

You can also mention Specially Defensive / Assault Vest sets in OO, but Physically Defensive is definitely better in this meta atm

Other than that, I can't find much wrong with this. QC 2/2
