Hello Pokemon Online forums. I am Cortex J. (Also known as Xetroc) and this is the balance project for the new upcoming FREE MMO: Pokemon Universe. Roloc, and his team of balancing geniuses have made a revolutionary new system for our game. And you have the option of testing that balance right now. Here is all you need to do: Get the mod, and join the fun Download our mod here and install it like any other mod you have for PO. Then go to the PU MMO Balance server, or copy and paste this into advanced connection: PU MMO BalanceServer - 184.108.40.206:5071. Then make a team using any of your favorites. They must be: -A pokemon from this list: http://www.pokemon-universe.com/index.php/topic,3782.0.html (Fully evolved Gen VI pokes are allowed. XY OU bans still count, until we balance the Mega evolutions in question.) -Must not have Stealth Rock. It will not be in Pokemon Universe. -Must not have Eviolite, Quick Claw, Quick Powder, and Brightpowder. These are not allowed. -Absolutely no evasion boosting moves. Accuracy reducing moves moves must not have 100% chance. -No legendary pokemon. They will be in Pokemon Universe, but will be kept Legendary. Its not fun when everyone has the same legend. That's it. Why should I even consider it? Roloc, the balance team, and I have made considerable progress on balancing every single Fully Evolved pokemon up to Gen V. He is currently working on Gen VI, but has allowed everyone to use the new pokemon. These pokemon have been looked at individually, compared to other pokemon that fit the same role, and have either their stats, movesets, abilities, or all three altered to fit a more balanced metagame. This means instead on relying on the OU tier, you can use any pokemon you wish on a team in a competitive sense. There are notable changes: Gameplay changes- http://www.pokemon-universe.com/index.php?action=post;msg=87143;topic=3793.0 Balance reports- http://www.pokemon-universe.com/index.php/board,39.0.html These links will explain everything. Ok, so you averaged all the pokemons stats? False. What we did was look at each pokemon individually, and made a balance for them based on what we know, and how it is used in battle. We looked at abilities, moveset, stats, typing, and multiple factors before making a decision to balance it. Some pokemon have been left the same, suck as Zoroark, while others have received helpful boosts in many categories. Alright, you convinced me. Do you guys accept new ideas? Yes, we take into consideration every new idea we can to make a near perfect system. If you have a balance idea, feel free to present it. If the pokemon is already balanced, do it anyways, because maybe we overlooked something. All you need is basic knowledge of competitive battling, and you're good to go. You can even go here to make a report, or offer your suggestions. We at the pokemon universe team will like to thank anyone who is interested in a balanced metagame. We understand that this is not for everyone, and getting used to a new system can be challenging. So, if you want to take on that challenge, meet us right now. The server is up 24/7, and we appreciate any and all types of feedback.
