Kyurem White Overview - Powerful Stabs - Nice coverage. - Kinda frail thanks to an Ice/Dragon typing. - Average speed (with the 99 speed bases added to the metagame) - Doesn't contribute a lot of defensive synergy - Turboblaze breaks through a few Pokemon such as Lugia, Forretress which doesn't stand on sturdy anymore, Shedinja's ability gets disabled - Water resistance allows Kyurem-W to be a switch into Kyogre, then Dragon Pulse/Draco Meteor weakens Water Spout to the extent of living another one - In Sun, Water resistance becomes even more advantaged, and Kyurem-W becomes a completely safe switch into Kyogre Choice Specs Kyurem-W @ Choice Specs Trait: Turboblaze EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Dragon Pulse - Ice Beam - Fusion Flare/ Focus Blast - Draco Meteor - Tremendous Draco Meteor power that takes at least 70% of none resisting Pokemon's health (bar the pink blobs) - OHKOs Groudon - Requires a lot of prediction for the choice of the move, as it will be stocked, however the reward is great - Ice Beam's type pierces through many other types without resistance, which can be the safest move, if a steel type is incoming on the switch, Fusion Flare can be violent , especially when using Kyurem-W in sun teams - 45.89% - 54.11% damage with 40.75% chance to 2HKO Ho-Oh (with 200 HP EVs), pretty sad after the Ice Beam nerf as it became less reliable - 85.51% - 100.48% damage with 2.56% chance to OHKO Lugia (max HP 60 S.def), thank you Turboblaze - Takes 1/4 HP while switching into the field with Stealth Rocks scattered - Dragon Pulse OHKOs Dragon weak types (such as Palkia) - Focus Blast can take on Arc-Rock and Ferrothorn in Rain, but it tends to miss. Choice Scarf Kyurem-W @ Choice Scarf Trait: Turboblaze EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Dragon Pulse - Ice Beam - Fusion Flare/ Focus Blast - Draco Meteor - Revenge killer, can act as a lategame cleaner if needed. - Ice Beam has a nice neutral coverage with Fusion Flare and Dragon moves, and will be the primary move to use. Focus Blast can hit Arceus-Rock hard. - For a fast speed average, Kyurem-W comes right in the middle, many threats can outspeed it if scarfed, especially Xerneas, Palkia and Genesect - Modest would be a bad choice because Timid is already barely enough, and 170 S.Atk isn't fairly unreliable. Any other scarfer would outspeed Kyurem-W otherwise. - I recommend using U-turn users such as Scizor or Genesect or Volt-Switch users such as Zekrom in a team that carries Kyurem-W as a scarfed Pokemon because it's not the best switch-in...also slow switching moves are the best, since the solid Scizor (as it takes the hit instead of Kyurem-W) - again many issues with the switches because of the Stealth Rock weakness. Roost+3moves Kyurem-White @ Life Orb/Leftovers Ability: Turboblaze EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd Timid/Modest Nature - Ice Beam - Roost - Fusion Flare/ Focus Blast/ Toxic - Dragon Pulse/ Draco Meteor - Awesome coverage obviously and thanks to not being locked to 1 move only. - Turboblaze is very beneficial against Lugia and Sturdy-mons like Skarmory/Forry. - Breaks down many forms of Bulky Offense. - Enough Special Attack to OHKO/2HKO Almost everything (except neutral effectiveness moves against max HP Arceus) - Draco Meteor can leave it as setup bait, but provides a massive firepower. Good Partners - Groudon and Scizor for the sun boost and the safe switch in thanks to U-turn. - a Spinner/Defogger is recommended due to the big Stealth Rock damage. Arceus-Fairy in particular synergizes nicely with Kyurem-W - Smeargle's Sticky Web works wonders alongside Specs and Life Orb. - Mewtwo-X or anything that can deal with Arceus-Rock, Arceus-Fighting, and Arceus-Fairy Other Options - Toxic can be used on all sets as they cripple various Arc forms that would wall it, but at the expense of coverage. - A good smashpass recipient. White Herb or Lum berry should be used to either block status from prankster thunder waves or ignore the defense drops. - SubRoost set can be used to evade status, but harder to pull off since it will then lack a coverage. - Surprise Stone Edge for Ho-Ohs can work. Checks and Counters - Specially Defensive Ogre can take it on, but won't be doing much besides phazing or burning via Scald. Roost sets can make a standstill as it can recover off the damage from it however. - Genesect can outpace and either revenge with Iron Head or simply U-turn to deal massive damage while gaining momentum. - Ho-Oh now walls Kyurem-W, tanking a hit and enough potential to KO back. It will be hard-pressed to not be 2hkoed by Specs however. - Chansey (and Blissey) - Arceus Rock, Arceus Fighting, and Arceus Fairy. Arc-Rock can get damaged highly by Focus Blast. - Special Deffensive Dialga with Thunder Wave. - Xerneas can outpace and kill it with Moonblast if it is speed boosting nature. Otherwise it risks a lot of damage from Ice Beam. - Hazards hurt it badly on switches.
