    Overview:
    * Good STAB moves
    * Dark / Knock Off buff
    * Offensive on both sides
    * Middling defense
    * Below average speed for a sweeper
    * Still sweeps
    * Situational abilities at best
    * Wants the 5th moveslot
    * Eevee ears

    Standard:
    Shiftry (M) @ Life Orb
    Trait: Chlorophyll
    EVs: 4 HP / 252 ATK / 252 Spd
    Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
    - Knock Off
    - Sucker Punch
    - Seed Bomb
    - Swords Dance / Fake Out

    * Life Orb power boost is necessary to secure some KOs.
    * Adamant still outspeeds Timid Specs Exploud by 1, although Knock Off alone will not OHKO (it will KO with a fake out beforehand or entry damage)
    * Spam Knock Off whenever you get the chance, as it also cripples counters.
    * Sucker Punch faster things, which there are quite a bit of.
    * Seed Bomb any fairies/fighting types that come in to resist you.
    * All of its abilities are largely useless, but Chlorophyll will help you against sun teams.
    * Swords Dance boosts Sucker Punch to OHKOing everything.
    * Fake Out eases prediction and is useful where Sucker Punch otherwise isn't, also Fake Out + Sucker Punch deals a lot.
    * Pay attention to faster low HP Sucker Punch users, you don't want your Sucker Punch to fail.

    Other Options
    * Leaf Storm for wrecking physical counters and Defog are 2 other great options in the fourth slot, change its nature to naughty/lonely if you use Leaf Storm.
    * Subseed if you wanted to.
    * Nasty Plot for a special set such as off its 90 Sp Atk, bear in mind you lose the priority and item removing qualities that make Shiftry such a threat.
    * Explosion
    * Power Up Punch is usable over Swords Dance.
    * You could run pickpocket and hope that you get your own item knocked off and then later steal, but this is still a worse form of Magician.

    Counters
    *
    The main counter is Chesnaught, who takes pitiful damage from any of its attacks and can setup spikes or just slap it with a Hammer Arm.
    * Anything faster (of which there are a lot of things) with Substitute generally ruins you.
    * Most dark type resists such as Granbull / Aromatisse / Scrafty can come in and setup/OHKO.
    * Bear in mind switch in counters are more then likely going to run into a knock off unless Shiftry is setting up.
    * Fletchinder can come in and doesn't care about knock off (because they are usually itemless) then kill/setup/burn it.
    * Dies to any moderate unresisted STAB attack, especially after Life Orb recoil.

    Mention Drapion as a notable counter, maybe even Skuntank.
    Gallade is a good shout as it cant be sucker punched or knock off'd without risking your whole team. It'll just KO with drain punch as seed bomb doesn't KO.

    Will write more tomorrow.

    I honestly think one of the main reasons why any user should use Shiftry is because its a much more offensive-orientated Skuntank with basically better dual-STAB coverage and its access to Defog.

    Shiftry (F) @ Life Orb
    Trait: Early Bird / Chlorophyll
    EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd
    Hasty Nature (+Spd, -Def)
    - Leaf Storm
    - Knock Off
    - Sucker Punch
    - Defog

    What shiftry does is switches into a pokemon it normally threatens out or can't do much shit to it (ie Claydol), defogs away hazards or it can hit like a moving truck with either Leaf Storm or Knock Off. Knock Off is incredible utility move but I find that it is the most reliable in NU, where there are no megas to block your boost (send in your banette and I guarentee you get smashed eitherway), and also crippling NFEs as they lose their Eviolite. Leaf Storm hits like a truck and makes it on of the best mixed attackers in the tier, and Sucker Punch is prio. The ability choice comes down to whether you want to screw over sleep users such as random hypnosis users or you want to fuck up sun teams, its really that simple. This probably should be your first set.

    Good C&C and OO

    Edit: Post at below, this is what happens when you try to do shit within 5 minutes.

    The tags used are [ spoiler ] [ /spoiler ], the old forums used . The only problem is if a Claydol plays it right, and stays in when you defog, it can use Ice Beam and do some decent damage then switch. (Which would give you a free SD or Knock Off/Seed Bomb)

    Aerial ace can be used to hit Solely Ches, like some people do with Kabutops.

    Possible to run Whirlwind to phase out switch-ins as they come. Subsitute over Knock Off as a slash imo, as it can sub on slower mons using toxic or protects, giving you a free SD which is very useful.

    will add all this in when not lazy

    also if you are going to counter Chesnaught, you might as well run HP Flying instead. You also don't have to give up a speed point.
    0 SpA Life Orb Shiftry Hidden Power Flying vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Chesnaught: 265-312 (69.7 - 82.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
    252+ Atk Life Orb Shiftry Aerial Ace vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Chesnaught: 198-234 (52.1 - 61.5%) -- 95.3% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
