Welcome to the Tournament application subforum. This thread should tell you all you need to know about applying to host a tournament.

    Rules:
    - Do not post in tournament threads you are not involved in. If you are not the potential host or co-host of the tour, do not post in its thread.
    - If your tournament idea is rejected, let it go. We will try to suggest improvements to a tournament if we're going to reject it, but some will just be unacceptable. We will always give reasons if it's not glaringly obvious.
    - Insulting TDs because they don't like your idea is unacceptable, obviously.
    - Feel free to steal the tournament ideas of others from other sites, however, you must credit them if you do so. If you are found to have copied as directly as literally copy pasting the OP without credit, your tour will be rejected and further measures may be taken.

    Guidelines for your application:
    - Tournament applications can be fancy and decorated but they don't by any means have to be. A simple paragraph explaining your tournament is enough as long as its detailed and descriptive. That said please use intelligible English.
    - Think about your tournament before posting it. Simple tournaments are usually the best kind, if your tournament idea isn't relatively simple make sure it's well defined and interesting.
    - Be open to minor changes, some tournaments may require changes to be acceptable, such as the tier they are run in if the proposed tier is unsuitable. We will always give reasons if we would like to change something.
    - If your tournament's title is more than about 8 words, we're changing it.
    - If you submit a tour application be prepared to see it through and host it all the way, if you have an idea but don't want to run it, post it here . Asking a TD or a friend to finish your tour if an emergency comes up is acceptable.
    - We will try to reply to all applications as soon as possible, leave at least 48 hours before PMing us or posting in your own thread asking us to look at it.
    - A user may only submit one tour every 10 days, if you post more than one in 10 days we'll just reject all of them.
    - A tournament with a majority of Tournament Director votes for approval (2/3 or 3/4) is approved.
    - If you are submitting a team tournament with teams of more than 3 players, you must have co-host.

    Hosting:
    - If your tournament got less than 16 signups it will be cancelled.
    - You may not participate in your own tournament.
    - When you post a round thread feel free to ask a TD to approve it there and then, we have missed them before, so better safe than sorry.
    - Tournament thread titles should ideally be formatted as follows: "Tournament Title [Round X/Finals]"
    - Activity wins are to be given fairly based on PO forum activity, unless other valid activity is proven by the player. TDs are generally hands-off with tournament hosting but if you would like us to coin flip matches or look into some activity wins, we will.
    - Be punctual with your deadlines and new rounds, extensions are ideally to be kept to a minimum.
    - Brackets are to be made using a random bracket-maker, hand picked brackets are not allowed unless pre-approved. Here is a simple bracket-maker: http://davidpeter.me/apps/bracketmaker/
