Discuss the possibility of banning Krookodile from the XY LU metagame.

Post intelligently based off of experience in the tier. Posts based off theorymon risk forum infractions.

Attempt to find the checks and counters (or lack thereof) for Krookodile as well as its impact and power in the metagame. Do not simply say "it's broken" or "it's not broken". Back up your arguments on why you think it should be banned or not.

Most importantly, elaborate on your points and try to think of counter arguments as you're posting. No one or two sentence posts will be allowed, and this will be strictly enforced.

If a consensus is reached, the result will likely be implemented in the metagame.

Houndoomite suspect should be over soon...

The situation for Krook is almost completely unchanged since the last suspect so here's a bunch of the stuff i said,,,

Chesnaught is gone so there's one thing that's changed for it since the suspect,,,

Basically I think that Krook is warping the tier immensely - its ability to come in and out of play, have a decent variety of sets that are all extremely good, its ability to spend a game supporting/knocking holes out of pokemon AND be a clean up mon at the end, all of these things are contributing to a meta in which people are having to run the same couple of pokemon (good pokemon, but nonetheless amplifying their usage from "good pokemon" to "has to be on every team") to deal with it and games are frequently coming down to whose Krook lasts the longest.

Please get rid of Krook this time, I'm pretty sure most of the playerbase thinks it needs to go.

Krook is annoyingly broken. The main reasons why is the combination of Knock Off + Moxie + Good Speed.

Knock Off means it doesn't have that many safe switch ins. There's Gligar, which becomes significantly worse at walling anything as soon as it loses Eviolite and that it loses to CB Krook. Alomomola hates losing Leftovers and CB Krook can actually beat it if Rocks are up. Aromatisse is basically the same as the other two, but gets easily 2HKOed by CB EQ. Defensive Hitmontop is a good switch in, but it's really easy to wear down with Knock Off + spamming EQ later on. Lastly there's Mega Abomasnow, which is good against Krook as long as you keep SR off the field and you don't switch it into Superpower or Stone Edge.

Moxie means playing around Krook, specially if you are running offensive teams, is extremely hard. Saccing things to scout isn't an option unless you are running something faster than Scarf Krook, otherwise is very likely you are going to get snowball'd. The Intimidate sets are fine, but it's pretty damn obvious that the "broken" one is Choice Scarf Moxie. Choice Band is good at dealing with some of the Scarf set's checks and counters, but it isn't as threatening as the Scarf set.

Krook's speed is great for a Scarf mon. It's faster than most of the tier's scarfers, so unless you are running something like Scarf Durant or Hitmonchan / Hitmonlee revenge killing it is hardly an option. Note that none of those Pokemon can directly switch intwo Krook without risk.

Due to the fact that Krookodile was just suspected, the tier hasn't been changed, and we have 2 new tier leaders, we decided to make a quick decision on Krookodile (with the permission of Hikari).

Krookodile is ridiculously powerful with its unresisted dual-STAB. On top of this, Krook has great power and moxie to clean up almost every LU team. Pursuit allows it to trap most psychic-types, and it has some great other attributes such as intimidate and stealth rock. With its fantastic attack and LU speed-tier, Moxie makes Krookodile a monster in LU. It has a few counters, such as Gligar, however most of them hate getting their item knocked off. Gligar, for example, can't wall Hitmonlee or strong physical-attackers after rocks.

Krookodile is simply too much in the tier. It has fantastic sweeping capabilities, and can knock off its counters, leaving them hindered for other physical attackers. Due to this, we're banning Krookodile from LU.
