The Blind Spartan Tour Throughout history armies are lead by charismatic, tactical, and powerful generals who are a central figure to successfully winning battles due to their natural born abilities or luck. Battles are won through the knowledge of the men and women you command, as well as knowing what your opponent is thinking, and having superior tactical skill. This is a tournament that pits your team building ability and luck to the test with limited knowledge. Essentially this is a spin on the idea of "Pick Your Poison" that I like to call the Blind Spartan. In layman's terms, I'm going to be limiting our participants by having them randomly select two numbers. The first number will give them a "General" Pokemon from a pool of pre-selected Pokemon, with a twist, they can't use any of the other Pokemon in the pool. They have to build around this Pokemon and build a team that can work around the other pool Pokemon and any useful Pokemon that can be used in LU. Catchy, no? The second number will be a battling condition, meaning it's a restriction on what they will not be allowed to use in their team building. It could be a limition of moves, hazards, status, or even Pokemon roles fit to a certain T. In my experience limiting and handicapping players allows for a stronger creativity to lead a path to victory, by finding new means of winning through unconventional methods when backed into a corner. This is my challenge to the players, this is the BLIND SPARTAN BATTLE. Standard LU clauses apply: - The Pokemon chosen must be LU legal, and as such if anything is banned during the tour, they will be banned after the round is over. Also, just double check on the server that it allows your team into LU to make it LU legal! - Sleep Clause - Species Clause - Self KO Clause - Team Preview Clause - Porygon2 Freeze Clause is optional - Best of 1 matches, finals will be best of 3, meaning you get to send in 6 numbers, and you can use what you get in any order. Round 1 Pokemon for the uninformed and uneducated in the art of LU and how we handle things: Meloetta, Nidoqueen, Mega Aggron, Emboar, Celebi, Dragalge, Tyrantrum, Exploud, Alomomola, and Mega Abomasnow. Just a side note for our challengers, if you did not receive Mega Abomasnow or Aggron it would be common sense to note that you can't use their base in your teams either. Not that they should be used at all because both are very lack luster given the state of LU and what's allowed, but it would be common sense that I want to force those that do end up choosing the number that they have to use the Mega because they are ridiculously awesome. But, given how I have been getting questions in relation to the various battle conditions, I'm going to make that clear on this issue, because no one has brought it up and I thought of it past the sign ups, but forgot to include it. Round 1 Battles: Brycen-Man vs. Memories Forgotten Mylo Xyloto vs. Jethalal La.Melle2402 vs. Snaga TraceofLife vs. willdebeast Mysterious M vs. Casparov tobyfant vs. gengar17 Elize Lutus vs. Sasuke Uchiha Scythe.vs SubLuck>Skill>BRisGay (Note I hope you all understand this is a substitute) I do believe the only people yet to send in their numbers are TraceofLife and Snaga. Please do that as soon as possible. Round 1 will go on til next Friday, January 22nd. Get your matches done in a timely fashion. Also, would be nice to save links/replays, logs, send in your team to prove legality if for any reason someone makes a bold accusation the Phoenix Wright OBJECHTION way of believing you aren't on the up and up with your team for whatever reason. Still would be nice! Seriously though, save them replays, I need to use them to stave off the hungry @pokemonnerd and his snorlaxy hunger. There is one sub open, so first come, first serve, otherwise you let a player get a free pass and sleep for a whole week.
