I read 'Blonde' & 'Bar' at first. Honestly disappointed that we are talking about ice cream chocolate.
To answer the question, I guess I could do the 'blonde'.

So, the VMA Awards happened last night. If you watched it, my question for August 30th, 2016 is "What did you think of the show?". If you didn't, my question is "What is your opinion on the MTV VMA Awards?"

Didn't watch it but i want to talk of mtv a bit. I used to watch it back in the years 2000 because there was a lot of music that were shared from all genre ( even metal which I used to hate back at the time )

Nowadays they simply show the most famous people who do their music within 5minutes and write crappy music and make awards. The world at the moment does not have the same approach they used to have during the 90's and I find it unfortunate considering a lot of interesting music get release every day.

Just to tell: MTV has no more relevance now and it really doesn't matter who won, it's just a question of who is naked the more or who gives you a song similar to other billions one.

blah blah music / TV / Movies / art / entertainment isn't as good as it used to be when I was younger because nostalgia means I ignore all the terrible shit etc etc etc

Its the same stupid argument people have been making since fucking Plato.

Also, who the fuck is still complaining about MTV not having music, this same complaint has been valid since 1995. MTV was ruined by the rise of mobile music like walkmen, ipods, youtube and the like. Who the fuck is going to watch MTV for music when you can go to YT and watch literally whatever I want?

Well, Generation VI is the best generation because it is the most recent and therefore has the most features. I think the only generation advancement I would consider an actual regression is from IV to V (literally the ugliest designs, not a great vibe).
Kalos itself may not be very memorable, but it's not all that bad, and the region doesn't wholly determine how good the generation is anyway. My favourite region is Hoenn, and ORAS is a whole lot better than RS even if it is sorely lacking the Frontier from Emerald.

For me, the best one is Gen IV, being more specific, HeartGold and SoulSilver, because the Speed on Diamond/Pearl was disgusting.

I'd have to say Gen IV, since it's the one I've played the most out of all of them.

If we're talking about post games Emerald probably wins out in that regard. Battle Frontier should be in every single installment.

Though I always had the most fun playing through Johto, both in game boy and the DS. It also has snorlax like Kanto/RBY so that gen really doesn't have much going for it besides being the first. And unlike RBY my snorlax could follow me around.

Kalos was the first game since Emerald that I actually completed with no long breaks in between playing so that's also something.

2nd Gen because I loved playing gold/silver/crystal and the remakes were cool + 2 regions in one game.
I also liked how gamefreak didn't try at all in gen 5.

Gen 5 because I played those the most and had the most fun with them, even though they were hackroms (they only upped the difficulty).
It's also the only gen I played competitively and I enjoyed it very much. (Did a bit of XY but not too much)
It also has my favourite pokemon designs by far, so this gen really stands out for me.

Gonna have to give it to Gen 5. Wonderful designs for a lot of Pokemon (even if it has lackluster ones like the Vani line), expansive region that got better in the sequels, solid soundtrack, decent postgames... I sincerely love the feel of this generation and I hope we get another one like it.

I really love gen 4 for a lot of reasons: the story in DPP was awesome and was probably the first time the evil team really had a chaotic plan that made me feel 'hey i should save the world!'

Competitively it was arguably the best and most balanced metagame we had after banning Chomp and Latwins. No preview were also very fun.

Graphically, that was back then we moved to DS, so they were way better than RSE.

It's also the gen where they released the best game in my opinion in HGSS. These games were fantastic, long enough to play after the story, you had plenty of legendaries etc.

These are the reasons why my favorite gen is 4

My reasoning is basically in line with @Edna's, my favorite is Gen 4. Also, in case anyone missed it from my multiple years on here, my favorite Pokemon is Azelf. So that helps lol.

Question for September 1st, 2016 (why the fuck is it September already?): So, meant to ask about this a couple of days ago but I didn't want to touch it while it was too sensitive. A couple of days ago, Gene Wilder passed away. What is your opinion on him, as well as his work?

    Hi guys, I'm back.
Were you saving this until I went away? lol
As Joey (I think) pointed out, I was a Shift Manager at a McDonalds. In terms of a job: if you stay at the most basic level, and need a flexible part-time job whilst you are in education or to fit around some other job you are doing for some side income, it is probably going to be a good fit for you. Once you start working full-time there, or you start to move up the ladder in the company, it becomes a lot less useful. I quit for a reason.

In terms of food: The quality of the food at McDonalds is ok, if the employees are actually following the procedures correctly. Problem is that most employees don't, and that is when the quality ends up taking a massive hit.

I won't say any more on the matter, as any further comments would either reveal too much about myself, or paint McDs (or at least the franchise I worked at) in a very negative light.
I have to agree with the majority. I don't personally mind watching golf, but of all the sports I have watched, it is probably the least enjoyable.
Nothing. I'm a Brit, so I recognise it as a choc ice... and choc ices are just not that nice imo.
Music videos still have quite a lot of exposure, thanks to YouTube and other similar forms of media. MTV as a channel is becoming less and less relevant, but the awards themselves still hold some relevance. With that being said, I couldn't give a shit about them.
    Multiple layers to this question.
The best generation of Pokémon would probably be the current one, as it is the most up to date and "complete" version of Pokémon to date.
My favourite generation of Pokémon is Gen 2... but I would argue that the Gen 2 games were mostly incomplete. It helped to complete the Gen 1 experience, and being able to return and have a new adventure in Kanto made Gen 2 amazing, but the games were definitely not finished. If you want to experience the best Gen 2 feeling, playing HGSS is a much better idea. The addition of the Safari Zone, a much fuller Kanto, post-game goodness and the updated mechanics just improve on what was already a pretty solid generation of games.
My most played generation of Pokémon is Gen 3. I was in high school when Gen 3 was at its peak, and all my friends would play too whilst we were at lunch or in break time. Add the Emerald Battle Frontier (which is still the superior one imo) and Pokemon Colosseum / XD (and I guess Channel too, I enjoyed it as a kid) and I spent an absolutely huge amount of time on Gen 3. Also I guess Gen 3 was where I specialised in competitive battling too, which kept things fresh.
Fuck 2016. Fuck this year. It's been a shit year for me, but it has also been a shit year to be a celebrity, cos a huge amount of big names have passed away this year.
Gene Wilder was an absolute legend. I can't recall a film that he has been in that I haven't enjoyed. His death is a big loss.

Like many people (probably), I'm a "Light vs. L" fan; no offense to the Wammy House or anything. (Watari is a badass.) My attachment to this anime came from the mindgames and confrontations that Light and L had. Even though I am a Kira fan all the way and Light wanted L dead, it was a little upsetting to actually see L die, because that was the end of the Light vs. L showdown (and in the eyes of some people including myself, should have been the end of the anime right there). On top of that, L's death was pretty disappointing and rather sudden (you kind of see it coming but at the same time, it's quite the let down). There wasn't much scheming Light did with Rem before Rem killed L. However, I feel that it would have been nice to see L survive to the end, actually beat Light, but change him through the process. L mentioned that Light was one of his first friends, and even Light at times seemed hesitant to do things because of his "friendship" (which he tried so hard to deny to himself) with L. Perhaps L could have shown Light things in a different point of few after Light had been defeated, and then together, they could build a new world without the means of a death note (I know it sounds a bit corny, but I like it all the same).

TL;DR The anime should have ended when L died (or L should have died much later, if ever). Near and Mello shouldn't have even been a thing to begin with. (Also lol Matt.) I would have liked it if it was kept to an overall "Light vs. L" showdown.

I don't want to hear that "but L lived on through Near" bullshit. Kindly fuck off.

No, I just had multiple posts to quote, and I didn't really register who it was. I guess I say the first few letters and assumed it was Joey cos, y'know, it is his thread.

Much like other anime/manga/etc, I've had very limited exposure to it. I think I watched a movie of some kind to do with it, but I can't remember a damn thing about it lol

Question for September 3rd, 2016: In a couple weeks, The Voice will start its 11th season and following the first female coach win by Christina Aguilera, two females will be coaches at the same time in the entire's show span: Alicia Keys and Miley Cyrus. What are your thoughts on these two women coaching on The Voice?

I am kinda stumped that Miley gets to be a coach. Yeah Alicia Keys would be able to train her folks but the Wrecking Ballgirl training peeps? Uh, nope. That's probably the last thing to expect from her imo.

Alicia Keys should be great. She's one of the most musically gifted people in the industry.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, I have reservations about Miley Cyrus having the experience or ability to be a judge on a show that is 'all about the voice'. For one, she's more than 10 years younger than any other judge on the show. She's a decent enough singer, but not jaw-dropping-ly amazing. Let's face it, she hasn't reached where she is based solely on talent and dedication. A heavy dose of nepotism was involved, and that's not really something the people auditioning can relate to and find inspiration from. Who knows? Maybe it'll turn out she's amazing as a vocal coach, but right now, I'm apprehensive.

    YAY MORE AMERICAN TV QUESTIONS

My issue with ALL of these reality singing shows is that we need to actually have producers as the judges, as they are the people who will ultimately help to produce a record.

Alicia Keys owns a recording studio and has been producing songs since approximately 2002. She has produced star songs, theatre productions and films. She is probably a decent candidate.

Miley Cyrus is not someone who is capable of signing talent, helping them to further their own natural abilities and make the best of them in order to make a record hit. She has produced one album: Her 5th studio album, titled "Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz", which received mixed-to-negative reviews primarily. She does not have a proven track record at all.

Might as well look at the other two too:
Adam Levine is not a producer either. He doesn't work in producing music for others. He has, however, been a judge on the US version of The Voice for every season, and he has had 3 winners. That being said, only the Season 9 winner, Jordan Smith, seems to have actually seen some notable success in the charts. I would argue that this track record does not show him to be a good judge for this kind of show.

Blake Shelton doesn't even produce his own songs, nevermind the songs of others. He has been a judge for the entire run of the US version of The Voice, and has had 4 winners. 2 of his winners reached number 1 in the US Country album charts... but as a country singer himself, that's not really something to boast about, with the highest overall album chart being hit by Cassadee Pope, who reached number 9 in the overall album chart, and hasn't had the same success since. As such, I don't really think he's a good idea for a judge either.

The UK version is about the same too. We've got will.i.am, who is actually a record producer, and we used to have Sir Tom Jones, a true legend of the music industry. We also had Danny O'Donoghue, who has produced music for artists such as Britney Spears. But we've also had Rita Ora, Jessie J and Ricky Wilson of the Kaiser Chiefs.

These types of tv shows tend to actually bring more success for the judges then for the contestants: Christina Get-Your-Hair-Cut re-charted after appearing on The Voice US, Danny O'Donoghue helped to put a face to The Script's music, and there's been lots more people getting interested in Tom Jones and Boy George, just to name a few. I think it is a bit annoying that the old guard are getting the exposure, and the newer talent that are winning these difficult competitions aren't actually getting any form of success... maybe actually having solid producers and writers would make it a better show?

To clarify: I am not ragging on any of the artists that have competed or judged these types of shows - I watched the last series of the Voice UK, and fully enjoyed it, and I'm a massive fan of the Kaiser Chiefs, for example - but I feel like these types of shows, especially The Voice which seems to have the feel of "we're more professional than the Idols, X Factors and other shows," need to actually step up their game.
