    [IMG] SM LC Movesets [IMG]
Welcome to the SM LC Movesets discussion! Use this thread to discuss creative sets and / or new sets introduced by Sun / Moon. I'll get things started by posting a couple of sets that I've played with a bit.

    Pikipek (M) @ Berry Juice
    Level: 5
    Ability: Skill Link
    EVs: 236 Atk / 36 Def / 236 Spd
    Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
    - Brave Bird
    - Bullet Seed
    - U-turn
    - Flame Charge

Pikipek is really fun to use because its access to Bullet Seed allows it to bypass a lot of the usual bird spam counters. It can reach 17 Speed, which allows it to tie with Pokemon such as Mienfoo, and its 17 Attack allows it to hit pretty hard as well. This set can clean late game sometimes thanks to Flame Charge. I went with Berry Juice as the hold item because it helps to offset the Brave Bird recoil, and it can sometimes allow you to setup Flame Charge.

    Mudbray (M) @ Eviolite
    Level: 5
    Ability: Stamina
    EVs: 196 Atk / 156 SDef / 156 Spd
    Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
    - Earthquake
    - Rock Tomb
    - Sleep Talk
    - Rest

Mudbray hits extremely hard thanks to 20 Attack and STAB Earthquake. Stamina can allow it to become a nightmare for physical attackers, especially when granted recovery by RestTalk. Rock Tomb has nice coverage with Earthquake and compensates for Mudbray's lackluster Speed. This is probably Mudbray's best moveset because its other coverage options are redundant with Earthquake, or they are less valuable than the recovery that a RestTalk set offers.

Edit: Heavy Slam is probably a more reliable option over Rock Tomb because it deals high damage since Mudbray is quite heavy.

    Cutiefly (M) @ Eviolite
    Level: 5
    Ability: Shield Dust
    EVs: 236 SAtk / 244 Spd
    Modest Nature
    - Quiver Dance
    - Baton Pass
    - Moonblast
    - Hidden Power [Ground]

Cutiefly is great mon with good typing. With access to Quiver Dance and okish defenses it can do ton to stuff. Setup and pass it to any special attacker once its checks are gone. It can sweep by itself, just setup Quiver dance. Moonblast for great STAB and HP Ground for opposing Steel/Fire/Poison types.

    Carvanha @ Life Orb
    Level: 5
    Ability: Speed Boost
    EVs: 196 Atk / 36 Def / 36 SpD / 236 Spe
    Adamant Nature
    - Waterfall
    - Crunch
    - Zen Headbutt Psychic Fangs
    - Protect

Carvanha is great late game sweeper even this gen. Just need a little support in form of hazards and then this is just deadly. Zen Headbutt can be swapped for Dbond or Aqua Jet but I like Zen HB as it provides more coverage and helps to KO them after spikes damage.
Edit: It gets Psychic Fang now which is more powerful and is more accurate than Zen Headbutt.

IIRC Jetha, BP is banned in LC here. Slash BP with Bug Buzz and also slash Psychic alongside HP Ground as that hits Gastly which might end up being troublesome. :>

Why not Psychic Fang over Zen headbutt? It's more accurate and better to use in my opinion

    Doduo (F) @ Life Orb
    Level: 5
    Ability: Early Bird
    EVs: 236 Atk / 236 Spd
    IVs: 15 HP
    Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
    - Brave Bird
    - Jump Kick
    - Knock Off
    - Quick Attack

Doduo has a new weapon in the form of Jump Kick, which gives it a reliable way of dealing with Rock- and Steel-types that gave it trouble in the past. The rest of the set is stuff Doduo already did well. The reason for the decreased HP IVs is to drop the HP below 20 to minimize Life Orb recoil.

    Hail is actually good again!

Alolan Vulpix (F) @ Icy Rock
    Level: 5
    Ability: Snow Warning
    EVs: 28 Atk / 196 SAtk / 236 Spd
    Hasty Nature (+Spd, -Def)
    - Aurora Veil
    - Blizzard
    - Freeze-Dry
    - Ice Shard

Aurora Veil is an amazing new support move that effectively activates Reflect and Light Screen simultaneously. The drawback is that the move only works in Hail, but this isn't a problem for Vulpix-A since it brings Hail with it. Icy Rock extends the duration of Hail in order to better support Hail teams, but Light Clay can be used to extend Aurora Veil if that is more important to the team. Blizzard is chosen because it has 100% accuracy in Hail, and Freeze-Dry provides coverage against Water-types. Ice Shard is a new toy that can be used for revenge-killing weakened sweepers or dishing out last second chip damage before going down. Alternatively, you could run Hidden Power, but you'll either lose Speed or Special Attack since Hyper Training doesn't apply to LC.

Alolan Sandshrew (M) @ Life Orb
    Level: 5
    Ability: Slush Rush
    EVs: 40 HP / 236 Atk / 36 Def / 196 Spd
    Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
    - Icicle Spear
    - Iron Head
    - Earthquake
    - Swords Dance

At first glance, Sandshrew-A may not seem that impressive due to its awkward Ice / Steel typing; however, it is redeemed by its ability Slush Rush, which doubles its Speed in Hail. Icicle Spear is the primary Ice STAB that can be used to break through Focus Sash Abra or some Sturdy users. Alternatively, Icicle Crash could be used, but it has a chance of missing, and Icicle Spear is usually stronger anyway due to LC mechanics. Iron Head provides a secondary STAB that hits opposing Ice-types, Rock-types, and bulky Fairy-types, and it also offers a chance to flinch. Earthquake provides coverage against Chinchou, Steel-types, and Fire-types. Swords Dance can be used to break through bulky Pokemon or to punish Protect users, but Rapid Spin could be used too if the team needs it.

    Cubchoo (F) @ Life Orb
    Level: 5
    Ability: Slush Rush
    EVs: 76 HP / 36 Atk / 196 SAtk / 196 Spd
    Rash Nature (+SAtk, -SDef)
    - Blizzard
    - Superpower
    - Protect
    - Surf

Cubchoo also gets Slush Rush, and it can act as a mixed sweeper. Cubchoo has a very usable Special Attack (this hits 16) that can hit foes hard with Life Orb boosted Blizzard. Superpower offers coverage against opposing Steel-types, Ice-types, and Munchlax. Protect is helpful for scouting and inflicting chip damage from the Hail, but its primary function is to protect Cubchoo from Fake Out users. Surf offers coverage against Fire-types like Ponyta and Larvesta.
