I don't actively go out of my way to listen to nor avoid listening to their songs, nor am I able to audibly identify their songs without prompting. I shall be doing that now before continuing this post. Spoiler: opinions on the songs joey listed Closer is stupidly overrated. How has this been near the top of the charts for so long? I am not into it at all. #SELFIE (as stylised on the official music video) is annoying as fuck with the chick speaking random shit, and it severely grinds my gears. The music itself is alright though... and after a quick search on YouTube, it seems that opinion of mine is mirrored by a significant amount of people lol Roses isn't terrible. I can't listen to it for too long, cos it is giving me a headache. However, it's better than Closer. Daya, the female singer in "Don't Let Me Down" is only 18. She was born in 1998. Jesus Christ I feel old. Anyway, I don't understand why it suddenly changes after she actually says "Don't let me down." I feel like it ruins the flow of what is a mostly decent song. Feels unnecessary to me. Also, the top comment on the official music video said "2016, even cars have started twerking." I had the sudden urge to murder someone after reading that. The One is alright. More mellow than the other songs, sounds alright. Can't complain. "feat Coldplay" ok so this is gonna be depressing then... the first minute of mashing piano keys gave me a headache. The next 20ish seconds were enjoyable. I then went back to having a headache. That isn't music, that's just mashing the same keys over and over hoping it becomes catchy. Ruins the song for me. Overall, it seems like they are able of getting the right idea and making a decent track, but they often try too much to stand out, and that helps to ruin the sound of their songs. I don't think they'll be going down in history as great innovators of music, but they're not the worst thing to be in the charts. Naturally, that's just my opinion. Others may rate them, others may hate them. I just think they could do a lot better.
