    Hello there, Guest!

Discuss the possibility of Drizzle being banned from the SM UU tier.
Use this thread to discuss Drizzle's impact on the metagame. Talk about the different sets it is capable of using, and potential checks/counters. State your opinion on Drizzle and if it should or shouldn't be banned from the metagame. Having no firm stance on the matter is fine too.

All opinions are valid and discussion among players is not only allowed but encouraged, provided your opinion has solid reasoning and displays having playing with or against the suspect in the tier. Do not simply state "it's broken" or "it's not broken".

Users that are unsure about suspect posting are encouraged to check this guide out.

Drizzle provides instant rain support for Swift Swim sweepers such as Kingdra, Kabutops, and Ludicolo. Pelipper and Politoed are the two Pokemon with access to Drizzle. Pelipper has reliable recovery in the form of Roost, which can allow it to stick around to set up rain throughout the match, and it can support the team with Defog or simply annoy foes with its 100% accurate Hurricane. Speaking of which, Tornadus-T also appreciates Drizzle support to make Hurricane accurate. I think what makes Drizzle a problem in UU is how threatening the Swift Swim sweepers can be once the rain is set up, since it doubles their Speed and provides a power boost to their STAB Water-type moves. Kingdra, Kabutops, and Ludicolo are all proficient Life Orb attackers. Ludicolo acts as a special sweeper with Hydro Pump, Giga Drain, Ice Beam and filler. Kabutops acts as a physical sweeper with Waterfall, Stone Edge, Aqua Jet, and filler (such as Swords Dance). Kingdra can be physical and / or special with moves such as Hydro Pump, Waterfall, Draco Meteor, Outrage, and Ice Beam. Azumarill can also become quite formidable with rain support, especially after a Belly Drum. My perspective from playing with a Drizzle team for a little bit is that it provides a great amount of support, especially when enhanced with a Damp Rock, that creates some nasty sweepers, and it would be better if it was banned from the tier.
