Discuss the possibility of Thundurus-T being banned from the SM UU tier.
Use this thread to discuss Thundurus-T impact on the metagame. Talk about the different sets it is capable of using, and potential checks/counters. State your opinion on the suspect and if it should or shouldn't be banned from the metagame. Having no firm stance on the matter is fine too.

All opinions are valid and discussion among players is not only allowed but encouraged, provided your opinion has solid reasoning and displays having playing with or against the suspect in the tier. Do not simply state "it's broken" or "it's not broken".

Users that are unsure about suspect posting are encouraged to check this guide out.

Thundurus-T can be very threatening as a double dance sweeper with Thunderbolt, Hidden Power Ice, Agility, and Nasty Plot. Its massive base 145 Special Attack allows it to hit hard enough after a Nasty Plot that it really doesn't need a Life Orb, so it is free to run Leftovers for better longevity or Electrium Z to nuke something. Agility by itself may be all that it needs to clean frail offensive teams late game, and it can also use Focus Blast over Nasty Plot for better coverage.

Assault Vest Raikou is a reliable switch-in. Quagsire can stall it out if it is the double dance set. Revenge-killing can be tricky because Choice Scarf users get outsped if it uses Agility. Latias can usually revenge-kill it if it stays healthy, but OHKO'ing with Draco Meteor is a damage roll. Strong priority like Choice Band Extreme Speed Entei or Life Orb Ice Shard Weavile can take it out if it took enough damage when setting up, but neither can outright OHKO it with priority.

Overall, I think that Thundurus-T should be banned from SM UU due to the lack of ways to reliably stop it.

Since Thund-T shares many of the same traits as Thund-I, except replacing priority with the ability to 2HKO even bulky resists with a STAB +2 Z-move, making it an incredibly good hole puncher, devastating balanced and stall cores. Thund-T also has *just* enough bulk to take an attack while setting up Agility or Nasty Plot, and then either nuke a core or sweep a frail offensive team.

    +2 252+ SpA Thundurus-Therian Gigavolt Havoc (175 BP) vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Latias: 270-318 (89.7 - 105.6%)
    +2 252+ SpA Thundurus-Therian Gigavolt Havoc (175 BP) vs. 248 HP / 92 SpD Amoonguss: 366-431 (84.9 - 100%)
    +2 252+ SpA Thundurus-Therian Gigavolt Havoc (175 BP) vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Blissey: 522-615 (73.1 - 86.1%)

    Thund-T is hereby banned.
